Founded in 1947, the Parramatta Eels were a dominant force in the 1980s, under the guidance of coach Jack Gibson and featuring star players like Peter Sterling, Mick Cronin, Ray Price, and of course our very own Peter Wynn. The Eels secured three consecutive Premierships from 1981 to 1983 and added a fourth title in 1986. This era is often regarded as the golden age of the club. In subsequent years, the Eels have remained competitive, fostering a passionate fan base and contributing significantly to the rugby league landscape in Australia. 

The Eels' home ground is CommBank Stadium, located at 11-13 O'Connell Street, Parramatta, New South Wales.

The team's mascot, an eel named "Sparky," reflects the club's name and its association with the Parramatta River, which is known for its eel population. Peter Wynn is the owner of Peter Wynn’s Score, one of Australia’s leading NRL merchandise stores. Peter is a former professional rugby league player who played as a second-row forward for the Parramatta Eels. He joined the Eels in 1979 from Thirroul in the Illawarra competition and quickly made an impact, representing New South Wales in his debut season. Despite suffering significant injuries early in his career, including a severe knee injury in 1981 and a head injury that sidelined him for 14 weeks, Wynn was part of the Eels' golden era. He played a crucial role in the 1983 Grand Final victory over the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. In 1985, he represented New South Wales again and was selected for the Australian tour of New Zealand. Wynn's resilience and contributions on the field have cemented his legacy as a key figure in the club's history.
