Founded in 1908, the South Sydney Rabbitohs are one of the inaugural teams of the New South Wales Rugby League. They quickly established themselves as a dominant force, securing numerous Premierships in the early 20th century. The club faced challenges in the 1990s, including exclusion from the NRL in 2000 due to criteria disputes, but were reinstated in 2002 after a successful legal battle and public support. In 2014, the Rabbitohs claimed their 21st Premiership, reaffirming their status as one of the most successful clubs in Australian rugby league history.

The Rabbitohs primarily play their home games at Accor Stadium, located in Sydney Olympic Park, New South Wales. They also host matches at Allianz Stadium in Moore Park, Sydney.

Accor Stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 83,500 spectators, while Allianz Stadium can accommodate around 42,500 fans.
